DescriptionA Hel'pa kroj consisting of a blouse, vest, skirt, two aprons, and a cap. The blouse is white with a gathered neckline. Wide panels of embroidery in red, green, orange, blue, pink, purple, and yellow are affixed to the upper sleeves. Floral embroidery encircles the neckline and cuffs. The ends of the cuffs are finished with pink threading. A sheepskin vest with a long hair lining is indicative of the Hel'pa kroje. These vests are typically covered with embroidery, cut leather work, and black leather inserts. The embroidery and leather work on this vest are in red, green, and orange. There is a single button on its front for closure. The skirt for this kroj is navy fabric with a light blue dotted print and is tightly pleated. Rows of green embroidery lie at the top and bottom of the waistband, and appear again at roughly three inches above the hemline. A navy apron with light blue floral print on it front and back (reversible) is worn as a kind of underskirt for the kroj's front. The apron is made from two pieces of fabric stitched together, a line of white thread running down its center. This white stitching also finishes its hem. Light blue embroidery accents its waistband. Another apron that is much more narrow is worn atop the navy one. This apron is made of white fabric and is covered heavily with embroidery. The embroidery is mostly in pastel pink, but white, green, blue, and orange accompany it. White satin inserts are incorporated into the embroidered designs. White lace finishes the apron's sides and hemline. Finally, the kroj is finished with a white cap made of stiff fabric and covered with intricate embroidery in red, green and dark greens, yellow, pinks, blues, peach, maroon, and purple. The letter "M" is embroidered in maroon threading on each outer side of the cap. Two red straps that have been tied together are woven through loops across the cap's bottom edge. They are meant to tie together under the wearer's chin and give more shape to the cap.
