DescriptionA Uherský Ostroh kroj consisting of a skirt, apron, sash, blouse, vest, collar, and headscarf. The heavily pleated skirt is made of black cotton and is covered with a heated adhesive coating on that gives it a plasticized sheen and feel. Its waistband is white with pearlized pink embroidery. The red apron is covered with a yellow and white floral brocade. It is gathered at the waist with a floral waistband. Its hem and sides are trimmed with white bobbin lace. The green sash is covered with floral embroidery in red, dark maroon, gold, dark purple, and a white-silver color. Each end is finished with a multi-colored fringe in green, blue, gold, and red. A band of geometric embroidery lies across the top of the fringe. The white blouse has heavily starched and pleated sleeves. Its shoulders and cuffs are decorated with red, green, blue, black, and white embroidery. Identical embroidery is found on the blouse's placket. Each cuffs is trimmed with very long cut work and embroidered lace. The black vest is covered with a dark blue floral brocade. Red ribbon covered with yellow, green, and blue floral embroidery is applied around its neck and down its front. The ribbon is trimmed with gold wire bobbin lace. Three green and gold plastic buttons are affixed at the bottom of the vest front. The vest back is decorated with three pieces of orange tambour embroidery. Each has a pom-pom and button. The ruche/collar is made of a red, green, and black embroidered and cross-stitched neckband trimmed with white bobbin lace. The kroj is finished with a headscarf made of a red cotton/linen blend and decorated with a yellow, black, white, and blue floral print.On View
