DescriptionA Vlčnov kroj consisting of a blouse and vest, petticoat, skirt and apron, and a collar. The cream-colored blouse has accordion sleeves and wide cuffs. A band of colorful embroidery runs down the front placket, is at both shoulders and runs around the top of each cuff. The cuffs are decorated with cut work and white embroidery arranged in floral patterns. The wine-colored velvet vest has white machine embroidered ribbon around its neckline and down its front. Metallic silver lace accented with sequins lines the ribbon. Four white buttons and accompanying button holes run down its front. The back of the vest is decorated with three large, bright orange designs formed with tambour embroidery. Each one has a large pom pom at its bottom edge. The kroj's petticoat is white and decorated with lines of white embroidered flowers. There are two rows of cut work and white floral embroidery on its lower half and its hemline is scalloped. The petticoat has a drawstring waist. The kroj's black skirt is tightly pleated with a wide, cross-stitched waistband. The bottom edge of the waistband is lined with metallic gold lace accented with sequins. A burnt orange apron covered with a yellow and white floral brocade is worn on the front of the kroj. It has a wide band of white lace running across its hemline and up each side. The waistline is gathered and pleated. An apron made up of two white panels of fabric, both covered with floral embroidery, is worn on the back side. The designs on this apron are stitched in purples and pinks, yellow and orange with stems and leaves in a variety of greens. The embroidery is accented with silver sequins, and cording made of silver sequins and beads runs around all of the panel's edges. A white machine embroidered ribbon acts as a waistband. The final touch is a collar covered with geometric embroidery in bright colors. The designs are mostly orange, but are also fluorescent green, dark teal blue, dark brick red, mustard, hot pink and off-white.
