DescriptionA boy's kroj from Bohemia that consists of a shirt, vest, pants, suspenders, handkerchief and hat. Its white shirt has a cut work and embroidered collar, and long sleeves. The black wool vest is finished with red edging. Its faux pockets are also lined with red fabric. Yellow-green and ecru embroidery decorate the pockets, vest collar and both sides of its front opening. A floral design in the same colors is on the back of the vest. Three large, silver buttons lies under each pocket and thirteen identical buttons run down the left side of the vest's front side. The brown, knee-length pants have two large, silver buttons decorating the top corners of its front flap, with three more above it in a horizontal line. There are five mismatched buttons around its gathered waistband and two black buttons inside it. The pants are accented with a pair of suspenders covered with floral cross-stitching in purples, pinks, reds and greens. One end is finished with a piece of leather cut decoratively around a button hole. The other end has a short leather strap with a ribbon button hole attached on its under side. A red handkerchief covered with a floral print in hot pink, red, purple, lavender, ecru, tan and green is tied at the waist. Red fringe runs around its edges and it is tied with twill at one end. The kroj is finished with a black felt hat with a long, black ribbon attached to its top with a silver button. The ribbon's loops and tails hang down onto the brim. A large, red and green puffball is affixed to the front of the brim.On View
