DescriptionA drawing of a prancing deer formed with swirled and curved lines. There are two long, curved antlers on its head. It is jumping over water from one shore to another. The body of water extends into background. The words "Pentimenti (difficult to make out) Penmanship Executed by Vaclav E. Vane" are written in script across the top of the drawing with particular emphasis on the artist's name. His signature and date, V. Vane 1883, appear in the bottom left corner. The drawing is surrounded by metallic gold matting and a molded frame that is painted black.
