OriginUSA
DescriptionA kroj made in the United States consisting of a blouse, vest, petticoat, bloomers, skirt, apron, and a choice of two caps. The white cotton blouse has short, slightly puffed sleeves. Its collar and cuffs are crocheted lace. The vest is made of black velvet in a corset-style. Lengths of red ribbon both lace up the front and act as straps. The vest's edges are trimmed with gold ribbon and sequins. The petticoat is made of white cotton with eleven and a half inch lace covering its bottom half. A pair of red and white polka dot bloomers was also made for this kroj. The ends of the legs are gathered with elastic. The skirt is made of royal blue chiffon embellished with only a wide, salmon-colored ribbon sewn roughly eight inches from the hem. The simple, white cotton apron is embellished with only lengths of bobbin lace across its hem and up each side. Two caps were made for this kroj. The first is a small cap made of white cotton that is nearly covered with white on white floral embroidery. A large bow of the same fabric is affixed to its back, along with a red ribbon bow. Most of the cap's edges are scalloped. The other is a navy and white polka dot cap in a bonnet-style. Its edges are trimmed with white rick rack. Its back is buttoned onto the ruffle that frames the wearer's face.
