DescriptionA Moravian kroj consisting of a blouse, vest, petticoat, skirt, and apron. The blouse is white with black embroidery, and black and white crocheted or tatted lace, on the cuffs. A large square collar that also features white with black embroidery is indicative of the region from which it comes. The vest is made of orange fabric with gold metallic beadwork that frame a peach brocade fabric. The white cotton petticoat is tightly gathered at the waistband. Its bottom flounces out and is decorated with white on white cut work and embroidery in a series of vertical bars with open tiny squares in each. The skirt is made of a brick red, synthetic fabric that is covered with evenly spaced floral embroidery in yellow, white, and green. Its waistband is gathered and it is lined with gauze-like fabric. The apron is made of shiny, black fabric trimmed with ecru tatted lace. Yellow, red, and blue stitching accent the lace in places. The bottom half of the apron is covered with yellow, red, green, and white embroidery in floral and geometric patterns.
