Both wear Bohemian kroje and the man's hand rests on a wooden fence. Trees, bushes and buildings make up the area around them. The words "Prodana nevěsta. Věrne nase milovani." are written on the back of the plate. This translates to "Bartered bride. True to our lovers." The Bartered Bride is a comic opera in three acts by the Czech composer Bedřich Smetana.
