DescriptionA female doll with a papier mache head painted with blue eyes and red lips, and wearing a traditional Piešt'any kroj. The sleeves of her white blouse are decorated with yellow stitching. Its cuffs are finished with yellow lace and ribbon, while its collar is made of identical lace. The vest is a biege, red and green plaid fabric with yellow ribbon down its front and around its bottom. The sash is made of matching ribbon. She has a dark blue, pleated apron and skirt decorated with yellow stitching and white lace around their hemlines. The stitching and lace continue up the sides of the apron. She also wears a white petticoat and bloomers, and black knee boots. There is a floral wreath with many ribbons on her head and she has long, brown hair. This kind of doll is called a Slip Doll, which were made by the "Slovak Home Industry" in the 1930s. Women made these in their homes, dubbed "Cottage Industry". The dolls have papier mache heads with features painted on, burlap stuffed bodies, and fabric hands.
