DescriptionA framed painting of four people by Josef Dubiel von LeRach. All of the subjects are nude and draped around one another. Two are definitely women, but the other two could be male or female. There is a doorway in the upper right corner that reveals clothed people chatting. The painting's background is full of brightly colored shapes. Its frame is grey with gold-painted decorative designs carved in its corners. The ESLK by the signature stands for ENTARTETE SCHLESIEN LERACH KUNST or ENTARTETE KUNST, which was a term used by the Nazis in reference to most modern art. Works of art that belonged in this group were banned as "Judeo-Bolshevik", or non-German, in nature and perverse. The artists of these works were prohibited from further creative activity.
