DescriptionA framed painting of two women by Josef Dubiel von LeRach. The one on the right wears a black dress, her hair is up and she looks very conservative. Her hands rest in her lap. The woman on the left is nude, has long hair and her face is peaceful. Her arms are at her sides, supporting her as she leans toward the other woman. A window frame is behind the conservative while rounded lines of colors in no distinct shape lie behind the nude woman. Its frame is painted with many different colors that mix together like a child's fingerpainting. The ESLK in the lower left corner stands for ENTARTETE SCHLESIEN LERACH KUNST or ENTARTETE KUNST, which was a term used by the Nazis in reference to most modern art. Works of art that belonged in this group were banned as "Judeo-Bolshevik", or non-German, in nature and perverse. The artists of these works were prohibited from further creative activity.
