DescriptionA Myjava kroj consisting of skirt, apron, blouse, vest, shawl, cap, and ribbon. The cream-colored skirt is tightly pleated and has a waistband covered with black and cream embroidery. The apron is in dark peacock blue satin and is tightly gathered to a plain peacock blue waistband. The blouse is made of thin, white cotton and has a lace collar. The cuffs are finished with white lace. Other costumes from this region have a separate collar. The vest is in a dark blue brocade and has six large metal fillagree buttons running down its front. Six dark blue cord loops attached to flowers made of the same cord lie on the opposite side of the front. The shawl is made of white netting with a white embroidered floral trim. Small white embroidered flowers are scattered throughout it. The cap is made of white embroidered netting with the face framed with wide white lace. A starched, white ribbon covered with white on white floral embroidery completes this kroj. The ribbon has scalloped-edges. It either acts as a sash and is tied around the waist, or may be part of the kroj's headware and tied around the cap with a bow at the nape of the neck.
