DescriptionA man's kroj from Moravia that consists of a shirt and vest, a pair of pants and belt, a handkerchief and hat. The long-sleeved shirt is white and decorated with embroidered ribbon in red, white and blue. Its runs down the front of the shirt from the collar, around the collar itself, around each cuff, and lies on both shoulders. Accompanying bands of cross-stitching in gold, brown and red are with it on the shoulders and collar. Over this, is
a woolen vest decorated with dark blue stitching. The vest is dusky blue and has two front pockets accented with dark blue embroidery. Ten gold-colored buttons run down the left side of the front with matching holes on the right. The right side is also decorated with twenty rick rack style circles cut from the wool.Next is a pair of dusky blue, woolen pants decorated with dark blue cording that is arranged in geometric designs. The cording is both wide and narrow cording in width. The wide runs along the outside seams of the legs to meet in the middle of the back while the narrow cording accents where they meet, as well as each hip. Both sizes decorated the front of the pants. The pants are held closed with a long, dark brown leather belt that is covered with gold grommets arranged in a repeating geometric pattern. The belt is held closed with a silver buckle. OA handkerchief is often tucked into the front of the pants. The one with this kroj is white with scalloped edges. Cut work and red embroidery also decorate the edges. Two lines of rick rack style stitching form a border around the top of the embroidery. Finally, a hat made of dusky blue wool with brown fur on its front and back in worn on the head.On View
