DescriptionA Moravian kroj consisting of a shirt and vest, pants and belt, a hat and boots. The shirt is white and has long sleeves. A narrow band of white embroidery lines the seam between shoulder and sleeve. Its collar is covered with geometric designs in black threading. The shirt's placket opens on the left and its edge is decorated with the same stitching as the collar, along with a line of floral stitching. The stitching swaps colors, making it black on white, roughly four inches from the top and a line of cutwork follows on either side. There is a twill tie on either side of the collar, another on the left shoulder and one on the placket. The vest is made of dark blue velvet. It has a circular front opening lined with white buttons and multi-colored floral stitching. The designs are expanded on the back and have accenting buttons there as well. All of the vest's edges are covered with red edging and hot pink rick rack. Its royal blue pants are decorated with dark blue cording wound into geometric designs on its front side. Floral tambour stitching lies under the red lined pocket on either side of the front opening. The year 1931 is stitched into the design on the right. The dark blue cording runs around the back and down the sides of the pants. Around the waist is a a brown leather belt decorated with white grommets arranged in groups of four with two in between. A black hat with a curved rim rests on the top of the head. A dark red ribbon with a green floral design is wrapped around the crown with multi-colored, fuzzy cording covering the rest; of the crown, from top to bottom. A clump of the cording sits just above the ribbon's bow. Black leather knee boots finish the kroj.On View
