DescriptionA pitcher with a roughly egg-shaped vessel tapering as it goes down to a circular base. It has a cylindrical neck with a subtly scalloped rim and slight spout on one side. The handle on opposite side is molded to resemble a long, palm-like trunk with leaves at its top. Most of the pitcher is pale yellow and there is a pastoral scene painted on its front side. It features three women wearing draped clothing and one cherub to their right. Dark brown leaf designs surround the image. The pitcher's base, handle, spout, and most of its neck are painted dark red-brown. The neck is molded with leaves and two large flowers that lie directly under the spout. Gold enamel is painted around the spout and rim, and also decorates the handle and neck.On View
