DescriptionA woman's korj from Šariš, Slovakia that contains the follow pieces:
A white cotton petticoat with cut and embroidered work around the hem.
A white rubac in coarsely woven linen with white cotton sleeves and natural muslin inserts under the arms. Blue floral embroidery decorates the short sleeves, while red stitched edging finishes the neck. The rubac is meant to be worn with a skirt, vest, and apron so it appears as if one is wearing a blouse.
A woman's vest in a dark brown fabric with a pale blue floral brocade. A braided platinum trim is applied to the front and back in scroll patterns with purple trim around the neck and down the front.
A skirt in a rust brown fabric with yellow and white floral brocade. Pale blue trim decorates the hem.
An apron in faded black cotton with a ruffle around the bottom and up the sides. The ruffle is trimmed with black lace that is mirrored by a continuous chain of purple, pink, blue, and peach flowers.
A pale yellow shawl with matching fringe. One corner is adorned with rose, pink, lavender, and cream embroidered flowers. On View
