DescriptionA Haná wedding kroj consisting of a bodice, blouse, vest, collar, petticoat, waist ruffle, skirt, apron, sash, headscarf, and handkerchief. The white cotton bodice with white on white floral embroidery is likely worn under the blouse, but there is speculation that it may be worn between the blouse and vest. The white cotton blouse has short sleeves that are accordion pleated and heavily starched. Black floral embroidery decorates the cuffs. Pale yellow floral embroidery lies at both shoulders. Hidden red stitching at its hem reads: "Poštulková". The brick red vest is covered with a yellow floral brocade. A red, green, and blue trim with gold metallic fringe is applied to the vest front. Six gold-colored ball shaped metal buttons run down its front. A white, ruffled collar that is trimmed with wide, ecru bobbin lace is worn around the neck. Every part of this collar is heavily starched. The off-white, linen petticoat has an added ruffled panel near its hem, and crocheted lace inserts near and at the hem. A heavily starched linen ruffle with twill tape ties is worn around the waist and acts as a kind of bustle. The stiff, white cotton skirt is tightly pleated and starched. The front of its waistband is thick and decorated with yellow embroidered floral motifs. The word "Poštulková" is embroidered on inside of the waistband in red threading. The white, cotton apron is decorated with yellow embroidery just above its hem. Small flowers embroidered yellow threading are sprinkled over the whole of the apron's front. White and black bobbin lace trims its sides and hemline. A silk sash in pink-purple with green, blue, and white floral embroidery throughout is worn at the waist. It is tied into a bow with long tails and hangs down onto the skirt. A red headscarf with a colorful floral print completes the kroj, and the ceremony. Its edges are trimmed with green fringe and it is tied to form a kind of cap. This headscarf replaces a wedding cap after a woman is married. The white cotton handkerchief decorated with pale yellow floral and geometric designs makes for a lovely bridal accessory. Its edges are scalloped and finished with yellow embroidery.
