DescriptionA child's kroj made by the donor's mother and consisting of a blouse, vest, collar, petticoat, skirt, apron, and cap. The blouse is made of white cotton with a gathered collar and cuffs. The cuffs are decorated with black embroidery trimmed with white lace. The red silk vest has blue print inserts that are trimmed with red and silver cording. There are four tan buttons on its front and a red silk rosette in the center of its back. The white collar is trimmed with black lace on three sides. The collar is embroidered with black vines, thistles, and stylized designs. The white cotton petticoat has a crocheted lace insert near its center. The hem is trimmed with white crochet lace and white rick rack. The red skirt is covered with a yellow and green rosebud print. This is not the original skirt, but is similar to it. The apron is dark blue and has a gathered waist. The waistband is embroidered with simple a cross-stitch pattern in red and white threading. Red, white, and green floral embroidery lies near its hem, which is trimmed with tan bobbin lace. Embroidered red ribbon ties are at the waist. The kroj is finished with a white cotton cap that is gathered at the neck and trimmed with a narrow band of white lace.
