DescriptionA Plzeň kroj consisting of a blouse, vest, skirt, apron, shawl, and a cap with bow. The off-white blouse has puffed sleeves and a lace collar. Its cuffs are finished with cut work and embroidered lace. The vest is cream-colored and decorated with a colorful floral brocade embroidered in red, green, purple, and gold. Ten metal grommets or eyelets are on each side of the front, along with metallic lace. A length of red cording winds through the grommets. Red ribbons tied at its top act as shoulder straps. The skirt is made of green and purple silk that has a floral pattern overall. The apron is in orange fabric covered with narrow yellow, green, light blue, dark blue, and red vertical stripes. The waistband is heavily embroidered with orange, white, and blue threading. The purple and yellow floral silk shawl is finished with yellow and purple fringe. The small, white cotton cap decorated with white on white embroidery completes the kroj. The face is framed with net lace trim and a large white cotton bow with a rust-colored ribbon in its center is attached to the cap's back. The bow's edges are looped and scalloped edges, and its ends are decorated with cut work and embroidery. A large bow, like this one, was worn heavily starched as an indication that the wearer was not married.
