DescriptionA traditional kroj consisting of a choice of two blouses, a vest, collar, skirt, apron, cap, and a choice of two sashes. The first blouse is off-white with long sleeves. It is gathered around the neck and cuffs, both of which are decorated with dark red rick rack style stitching. The sleeves are loose and puffy. The top of each one is covered with a large floral and geometric embroidered design in red and white. Six small white buttons run down its front. The other is much more plain. It has short, puffed sleeves and a gathered neck and waistline. The dark blue vest is covered with a floral brocade in purple and green. Five button holes run down either side of the front opening with five buttons on the left side as well. The collar is comprised of a narrow band of goldwork with bobbin lace affixed beneath. Goldwork is made using a technique of wrapping gold wire threading around cut leather or cardboard and affixing it to a garment. A yellow ribbon covered with floral embroidery in orange, red, yellow, and dark purple is affixed on either side of the goldwork band. The black skirt differs from front to back. A floral print in blue is on its backside, while its front is heavily pleated and covered with a dark and light brown print. It is decorated with five lines of stitching across its bottom. The apron is black in color and has a gathered waist. Its hem and sides are decorated with cut work and royal blue embroidery. Their edges are scalloped. This kroj includes a cap made of white netting and nearly covered with floral goldwork. This is a technique of wrapping gold wire threading around cut leather or cardboard and affixing it to a garment. The cap's face is framed with white lace. The two sashes are quite similar. Both are green, but one is a brighter shade. Both are covered with floral embroidery in red, yellow, and dark purple. The bright green sash also has gold threading, while the lighter green has white.
