DescriptionA Piešt’any kroj that includes a blouse and vest, a petticoat, skirt and apron, a cap and sash with a bow. The korj's white blouse has large, elbow-length puffed sleeves. Each sleeve is nearly covered with orange floral and geometric embroidery and cutwork. Identical embroidery lies around the blouse's gathered cuffs with wolf's teeth edges. A length of red machine embroidered ribbon tied into a bow is affixed on each cuff. Yellow machine embroidered ribbon runs down the left side of the front opening. Its cream-colored vest is covered with machine embroidered floral designs in red, dark red, mustard, light green, dark mauve, cream and gold-brown threading. Its front, neckline and arms are finished with pale pink machine embroidered ribbon. The floral designs on the ribbon are purple, teal, white and light green. Metallic gold rick rack outlines the front and back of the vest. Eight button holes lie on either side of front opening with a mustard-colored shoestring as lacing. The cream-colored petticoat has a band of bobbin lace around its hemline. There are twill tape ties at its gathered waistline. The black skirt and apron are nearly identical. Both have a tightly gathered waist with white lace finishing their hemlines, along with mustard-colored rick rack. A row of chain stitched floral designs in white threading runs across their bottom edges and, just above it is a wide band of pale yellow embroidery that features floral and geometric designs. The only difference between the two is that all of these decorations run up the sides of the apron, as well as running across its bottom. The kroj's white cap is decorated with orange floral and geometric embroidery and cutwork. Identical embroidery runs around its face with wolf's teeth to finish the edge. A drawstring runs through all outer edges to pull the cap around the wearer's head. The final touch to this kroj is a bright yellow machine embroidered sash and matching bow. Both are covered with floral designs in red, dark red, dark blue, yellow, white and green threading. A bright yellow border is stitched on either side of the ribbon, and along the top and bottom of the bow.On View
