DescriptionA bridal kroj from Moravia that includes a blouse and vest, petticoat, skirt and apron, collar and headdress. The kroj's cream-colored blouse has destinctive white, accordion sleeves. There is a band of cross-stitching in geometric designs at the top and bottom of each sleeve. The stitching is primarily in orange threading, but black, red, yellow, yellow-green, dark blue and off-white are also included. The blouse has long, starched cuffs decorated with cutwork and embroidery in geometric and floral patterns. A band of identical cross-stitching runs down the placket. The royal blue vest is covered with a teal and tan floral brocade. A wide, white ribbon runs down its front and around the back of its neck. The ribbon is covered with colorful flowers made out of folded fabric that is accented with faux flowers and sequins. Leaves embroidered in a variety of greens fill the space in between each flower. Metallic silver lace with sequins runs around the outer edge of the ribbon. Three large teardrop shapes of tambour stitching in bright orange are placed across the vest's back side. Each one has a matching pom pom beneath. Its white petticoat has a gathered waistline and a scalloped hemline that is decorated with cutwork and white embroidery. The black skirt is pleated on all sides, but the front. It has a white waistband covered with colorfully embroidered floral designs and decorated with silver sequins. Metallic gold and silver lace, also accented with sequins, is sewn beneath the waistband. Two white panels of fabric covered with yellow, pink, salmon, burnt orange, white, purple, pink-purple and light blue flowers are attached to the center of the waistband. The accompanying leaves and stems are stitched in three different shades of green. The panel edges are finished with wound sequinned cording. The dark fushia apron is covered with a tan floral brocade. Starched white lace runs across its hemline and up each of its sides. It has metallic silver cording around its gathered waistline. A white lace collar with a cross-stitched band around its top completes the look of the blouse. The collar's stitching is primarily orange, but black, white, yellow, red, green and blue are also included. The finishing touch is the headdress, which is made with a cap covered with painted ribbons and faux flowers. Metallic silver lace accented with sequins frame the face. A variety of shining beads and silver leaves are scattered throughout the flowers, and white feathery sprigs are affixed to its top. Ten ribbons, all covered with painted floral designs, hang down from its back side. Four of the ribbons are blue with white and pink flowers, four are red with pink and blue flowers and two are white with purple flowers. All of the ribbons have green leaves.
