DescriptionA Uherské Hradiště kroj consisting of a blouse, vest, collar, petticoat, skirt, two aprons, and a headscarf. The blouse is white with fluted sleeves. Rectangular strips of embroidery in gold, black, pink, blue, green, red, and yellow geometric designs are sewn on the shoulders, cuffs, and front. Long lace (like Battenburg) is sewn beneath the embroidery. The vest is in pink and purple fabric with a metallic lace trim. Six metal buttons run down its front. Its back is decorated with red embroidery and pom-poms. The collar is made largely of white lace. The lace is gathered at its top and sewn to a strip of embrodiery in gold, black, white, yellow, pink, blue, and green embroidery. The petticoat is white with a gathered waistline and eyelet lace trim at its hem. The heavily pleated skirt is made of black fabroc and has ecru lace trim sewn on the underside of its hem. One of the two aprons is in a pink brocade with ecru lace trim. The other is an apron in two strips of black fabric. Both are covered with floral embroidery in pink, white, yellow, green, and gold. Each strip is trimmed with looped cording. The kroj is finished with a red headscarf with a floral print in yellow, blue, green, and black. The scarf is twisted and sewn into the form of a typical Moravian headdress.On View
