DescriptionA Torysa wedding kroj consisting of a blouse, dress, apron, belt, and cap. The blouse is white with multi-colored cross-stitching and embroidery around its neck and cuffs. The embroidery is in blue, red, green, yellow, orange, black, and purple threading. What is at the neck extends a short distance down the blouse's front. A wide band of cut work lies near the top of each sleeve. The dress acting as the kroj's skirt and vest. The pleated skirt is black and covered with blue pokadots. Its hem is finished with light blue stitching that is mirrored roughly four inches above. The waistband separating the skirt from the vest is a narrow length of navy fabric with a light blue circular print. The vest is made of white wool and decorated with burgundy, light green, rust, and gold ribbons arranged in geometric designs. The apron is made of two pieces of navy fabric with a floral print that are sewn together with a fine red sewm down the center. It is gathered at the waist, where there is a wide band of red floral embroidery. The hem is finished with a narrow band of red geometric embroidery. The crocheted belt has brightly colored geometric designs woven in. The belt's threading is in a variety of colors; red, purple, green, red, white, blue, and yellow. The kroj's crowning glory is a headband of gold ribbon with long machine embroidered ribbons hanging from its back. The ribbons are also beaded.On View
