DescriptionA Kyjov kroj consisting of a blouse, vest, collar, skirt, and cap. The blouse is made of white linen and has a drawstring neck and puffed sleeves. Its cuffs are covered withcut work and black floral embroidery, and are trimmed with black and white lace. The vest is made of a woven, red striped brocade that is trimmed with light greem ribbon on every edge. The ribbon is covered with floral embroidery in purple, yellow, dark red, pink, and white threading. Each brocade section is outlined with yellow rick-rack. Two short lengths of red ribbon covered with floral embroidery finishes the edges of the vest's front opening. Decorative glass buttons are affixed over the ribbon. The collar is made of white linen and is nearly covered with black floral embroidery. Three of its four edges are trimmed with black and white cotton lace. The skirt is made of a red-orange wool/cotton blend covered with evenly spaced floral embroidery in green, yellow, and white. A row of fushia and green metal sequins, and opaque and clear glass seed beads, lines the bottom edge of its waistband. The skirt is gathered at the waist. The kroj is finished with a heavily beaded cap made in the Kyjov style, but not from the region. It is made from a white synthetic fabric and is heavily embroidered with a red, blue, and green floral design. The embroidery is heavily accented with glass beads. The face is framed with white lace and the back is gathered by a drawstring. This kroj is incomplete in that it is missing an apron and sash.On View
