DescriptionA Blata kroj consisting of a blouse and vest, skirt and apron, two petticoats and a cap. The white blouse has extensive beadwork at its collar and cuffs in blue, red, green, orange, and lavendar. The beadwork is accented with white lace and is arranged in floral designs. The vest is covered with a gold and red floral brocade. Its edges are decorated with silver bobbin lace. Three buttons run down its front. The silk skirt is pale blue-grey in color with purple ribbon trim at the hem and a wide strip of purple ribbon just above it. The ribbon is decorated with yellow, white, green, and pink machine embroidered flowers and does not extend all the way around the skirt. The kroj's white apron is covered with darnet inserts and beadwork. Pink, red, blue, yellow, and green beads have been used, as well as gold sequins. A narrow band of white bobbin lace finishes the apron's bottom edge and both sides. The two petticoats are largely the same. Both are made of white linen decorated with cut work and white on white embroidery. The waistlines are heavily gathered. These petticoats were made for a married woman's kroj. The finishing piece is a cap covered with platinum wire threading and lace, and encrusted with garnets, glass beads, and sequins. It is lined with a rose-colored linen. This cap was worn by married women. On View
