DescriptionA child's kroj from Bohemia that includes a blouse, jumper, apron, cap and a pair of shoes. The kroj's white blouse has long sleeves that are decorated with floral embroidery and cutwork. Its cuffs are scalloped and covered with floral embroidery. A series of lace and vertical pleats cover the front of the bodice and there is lace around the neckline. The red sleeveless jumper is covered with checked embroidery. A small white and brown flower is embroidered in every other square. Two lengths of white bobbin lace are sewn around its bottom, though not across the front. White and blue wound cording lies in between the lace. Narrow, blue and white cording is sewn around the hemline. A smaller version of the wound cording lines the front opening, neckline and arms. The same cording decorates the front and back of the bodice, along with pink and white wound cording on the back. Its apron is made of red, green and white striped fabric. Each vertical stripe is covered with machine embroidered floral designs in green, red, yellow and dark blue threading. It has a green waistband with leafy embroidery in the same colors. A narrow band of white bobbin lace runs across its bottom edge and up both of its sides. The kroj's cap has light blue sides that are nearly covered with sequins, cording and beads arranged in a floral pattern. A red, yellow and white floral brocade runs through the middle, from front to back. On the top of the cap is a salmon-colored bow with small floral pattern behind it that is also made of sequins, cording and beads. In front of the bow is a larger floral design made in the same way and surrounded with ruffled salmon-colored ribbon. The middle is divided from the sides by the same ruffled ribbon. White and pink lace runs around the cap's edges. Two salmon-colored ribbons that are covered with machine embroidery act as ties. Finally, the kroj includes a pair of closed-toe shoes made of red leather. Each on has a short heel and a strap that secures around the ankle with a button.
