DescriptionA Moravian kroj consisting of a blouse, two vests, a collar, petticoat, skirt, apron, sash, and cap. The blouse is off-white with puffed, elbow-length sleeves. The tops and bottoms of its cuffs are finished with black blanket stitching and black floral embroidery accented with open work decorates each cuff. This kroj has a choice of two similar vests. The first one is in a red brocade with green inserts on its front and back. Winding, gold cording outlines the inserts. The cording is accented with sequins and tiny beads. Gold and dark blue embroidery lines the cording.The vest front is closed with four silver buttons. Three circle designs formed from cording are evenly spaced across the insert on the back of the vest.Their centers are filled with sequins and beads. Sequins and tiny beads also accent their cording. The other is in a plain, red fabric with blue inserts on its front and back. Ecru, gold, and light green embroidery outline the inserts. Two small sequins are affixed on each side of its front. The front opening is held closed with five silver buttons. Three red fabric circle designs are evenly spaced across the insert on the vest's back. Each is outlined with dark, metallic lace and fuchsia ribbon. Their centers are filled with gold and ecru embroidery. Floral embroidery in ecru threading surrounds the circles. The kroj's collar is in off-white cotton with black floral embroidery accented with open work stitched around three sides. Black blanket stitching finishes same three sides, as well as portions of the fourth. The petticoat is off-white with a gathered waistband, save the last eight inches on one side. Off-white bobbin lace is affixed around the hemline. The skirt is red with evenly spaced floral embroidery overall. The embroidery is in yellow, white, and green threading. Its wide, ecru waistband is covered with red geometric embroidery and it is gathered at the waistband, save five inches on each side. The dark blue apron is nearly entirely covered with floral embroidery in orange-red, green, ecru, pink, and gold threading. the apron is split down a center line and reattached with loose ecru bobbin lace. Wide, ecru bobbin lace with red and green accents is affixed across its hemline.
The kroj is accented with a white sash covered with floral embroidery in dark red, orange-red, dark purple, yellow, and bright green. The finishing touch is its cap. It is in an ecru lace with all but its back covered in ribbon and inserts. The ribbon is white with floral embroidery in salmon, yellow, blue, dark purple, and blue-green. The inserts are hot pink, salmon, and dark green, and each is separated from the other by gold or sequinned cording. Wide, metallic lace covers the hot pink fabric, both lining the face of the wearer. Thin, ecru lace also finishes the face. A long, red ribbon tied in a bow lies at the base of the cap. It is covered with floral embroidery in bright yellow-green, red and dark red, gold, dark blue, and white threading.
