DescriptionA Moravian kroj that consists of a blouse and vest, 2 petticoats, a skirt and apron, collar, sash and cap. The blouse is white with puffed sleeves. A band of black floral embroidery runs around the center of each sleeve with a matching band around the cuffs. Black and white bobbin lace finishes each cuff. Its red silk vest has ecru inserts that are covered with a tan floral brocade and are lined with braided cording in mauve and dark brown. Six gold-painted, spherical buttons run down the right side of the front. There are three silk circles evenly spaced across the vest's back side. Each one is decorated with minimal mustard and blue stitching, and lined with the braided cording. The two petticoats are identical and have lace made of cut work and white embroidery around their hemlines. The red skirt is covered with evenly spaced, machine embroidered flowers in yellow, white and green threading. Its white waistband is covered with teal-green, machine embroidered flowers and is lined with sequinned cording. The black apron is covered with brightly colored embroidery in floral and geometric patterns. A band of white, red and green bobbin lace runs across its hemilne. It has a gathered waistband. The kroj's collar is white and covered with black floral embroidery, save square section along one of the long sides. The embroidery is accented with cut work. Black and white bobbin lace runs around three of its four sides. A dark pink sash is worn around the waist. It is covered with machine embroidered floral patterns in dark purple, dark navy, burnt orange, white and sea green threading. A small, repeating pattern runs along its edges. Finally, a white cap with white bobbin lace that is backed with hot pink fabric around its face is worn on the head. Dark lace backed with green fabric runs around the back side of the face. A band of colorful floral embroidery accented with tiny red, blue and green beads runs the length of the cap.On View
