DescriptionA Moravian kroj that includes a blouse and vest, petticoat, skirt and apron, and a collar. The kroj's white blouse has puffed elbow-length sleeves and a gathered neckline. Delicate white lace runs around its cuffs with grey floral embroidery just above. Its pinkish-red silk vest has brocade inserts on its front and back sides. The inserts are dark blue with winding mustard lines bent into geometric designs. White and red cording accented with tiny sequins lines all of the inserts, including the three circles cut into the insert on the back of the vest. There are five oddly shaped gold buttons on the left side of the front. The white petticoat has a gathered waistline. The kroj's red skirt has alternating vertical stripes of floral embroidery around its circumference. It has a plain red waistband and a gathered waist. Its black apron has an off-white waistband that is covered with pale blue embroidery. White and black bobbin lace runs across its hemline. Two rows of colorfully embroidered floral designs runs across the lower half of the apron with two rows of scalloped embroidery in between. The kroj is finished with a white collar that has delicate white lace around three of its four sides. Grey floral embroidery and cutwork follow the lace around the edges. A row of grey cross-stitching in a rick rack design lies in between the lace and embroidery. Larger dark grey flower are stitched in two corners.On View
