DescriptionA child's kroj that includes a blouse, vest, petticoat, skirt and apron. The white blouse has puffed sleeves, There is white lace around its collar and cuffs. Dark tan embroidery and cut work also decorates the cuffs, along with red machine embroidered ribbon. The cuffs are gathered with drawstring. A rectangular length of embroidery is affixed to the placket, just under the collar. It is covered with geometric designs in red, blue, orange and white threading. The dark pink vest has dark green inserts. Two panels of patterned red and gold fabric are sewn into its sides. The front and back of the vest are decorated with silver sequins and beads. The beads on the back fill three circles of dark pink fabric while the beads on the front serve as accents for two blue- and salmon-colored, embroidered applique flowers. There are five white buttons on the left side of the front and button holes on the other side. The white petticoat has scalloped cut work and embroidery around its hemline. Its lower half is covered with cut work and embroidery in floral and geometric designs. The kroj's red skirt has stripes of yellow, white and ecru flowers and geometric designs woven in. Its waistband is made of a dark red and ecru brocade fabric. Finially, the apron is blue-green and nearly covered with horizontal ribbons and lace. There are three machine embroidered ribbons with beaded cording in between and two pieces of wide lace sewn over dark mauve silk. A narrow band of white lace finishes its hemline.On View
