DescriptionA kroj from Podluží, Moravia that includes a matching blouse and skirt, an apron, headscarf, collar and neck bow, and three petticoats. The blouse is made of turquoise fabric and has long sleeves. Wide bands of black, floral lace run down either side of its front, around its bottom edge and are at each cuff as well. The skirt is made of the same fabric, has a gathered waitband and is decorated with a band of thirteen narrow pleats located roughly four inches from its hemline. Its white apron is covered with a metallic silver brocade in floral and geometric designs. On the wearer's head is an off-white scarf covered with a floral brocade. Two of its four sides are painted with a lovely floral design in blue, mauves and greens. The design is also accented with geometric designs painted in gold enamel. A white, rectangular collar with bobbin lace around three of its four sides is tied around the neck. Three narrow pleats run along each short side and intersect with three more that run across the collar's bottom edge. There is a floral design embroidered in white in the two lower corners. Also worn at the neck is a white bow with long tails. The ends are painted with gold enamel and accented with silver sequins. This kroj is worn with three petticoats. Two are nearly identical in white and covered with a woven geometric design. The third is also white, but is covered with a floral print in pink, salmon, blue, yellow and green. All three are gathered at the waist. On View
