DescriptionA man's kroj from Podluží, Moravia that includes a shirt, pants, apron, scarf and a pair of boots. The shirt is white with long sleeves that are decorated with cut work and white enbroidery. The cuffs on both are scalloped. Red floral embroidery runs around the shirt's collar and is on the front placket as well. Four lengths of white on white embroidered ribbon lie on either side of the collar to tie when worn. The shirt is paired with a plain pair of white pants with a drawstring waist and frayed bottoms. There is a pocket on the right side of the front. A light blue apron decorated with a row of embroidery work across its bottom, roughly three inches from the edge, is tied around the wearer's waist. The embroidery alternates between flowers and leaves in pinks, oranges, ecru and greens stitched directly to the blue fabric and webbed designs within a cut out oval. A white daisy with orange, yellow and green details is in the center of each web. A long, red scarf covered with a floral brocade is worn around the neck. Colorful floral embroidery is evenly spaced along the length of the scarf. The largest flower in each design is either metallic gold or silver threading with dark purple, dark blue, ecru flowers and green leaves surrounding it. A large quantity of fringe hangs at either end of the scarf. The kroj is finished with a pair of black, leather knee boots with red paint around the edge of the soles. On View
