DescriptionA Moravany kroj consisting of a blouse, vest, petticoat, skirt, apron, sash, cap, and ribbon. The blouse is white and has a high collar in light blue satin and white lace. A rectangular section of cut work, and white and blue embroidery begins at the neck and extends a third of the way down the blouse. Its sleeves are large, puffed, and nearly covered white, blue, and green embroidery accented with cut work. Matching bobbin lace finishes the cuffs. Bands of white fabric and satin have been added to the bottom of the blouse as a means to extend it. The vest is made of white satin vest and covered with light blue and green floral embroidery. Silver metallic trim outlines the floral patterns on each side of front opening. The floral embroidery and silver trim is echoed on the back of the vest. Bands of white fabric have been added to the bottom of the blouse and vest as a means of extending the life of a garment as its wearer grew in girth. The white petticoat has a gathered waistband and a wide panel of lace on its lower half. The skirt is made of black fabric and is gathered to a high waistband. A two and a half inch band of floral embroidery in white, light blue, and green is affixed just above the hem. A three and a half inch band of black lace is sewn around the hemline. The apron is exactly like the skirt in every way, except that it has embroidery and lace extending up both sides as well. The kroj's sash is made of white satin and covered with floral embroidery in red, yellow, blue, and green. The finishing touch is the kroj's white cap covered with cut work, and floral embroidery in light blue, white, yellow, and green. The face is framed with wolf's teeth decorated with cut work and floral embroidery. Wolf's teeth are thought to be a protective symbol. Two light blue, satin ribbons with scalloped ends are also included in this kroj.
