DescriptionA Piešt’any kroj consisting of a petticoat, skirt, apron, blouse, vest, and headwreath. The white cotton petticoat has an elasticized waist and pocket. Its hemline is trimmed with white on white floral eyelet lace. It is gathered at the waist. The satin skirt in royal blue has a wide band of multi-colored tambour embroidery across its hem. White bobbin lace trims its hemline. It is gathered at the waist. Red embroidery accents its sides. The satin apron in royal blue has a wide band of tambour embroidery around its hem and sides in green, yellow, orange, pink, red, and white threading. White cotton bobbin lace trims its hemline and sides. It is gathered at the waist. There are additional embroidered bands on either side of the top, just under the waistband. The blouse is made of white cotton with a gathered neckline. Cut work and red embroidery adorns its front placket. Its neckline is decorated with a collar of red and pink tambour embroidery accented with pink and blue lace. Its sleeves are covered with cut work, and red and blue embroidery. Cut and wrapped thread work lace form each cuff. The vest is in a magenta brocade. It is decorated with lengths of white floral embroidered ribbon that are trimmed with orange and yellow tambour embroidery, and silver metallic cording. Three silver metal buttons run down its front. A headwreath covered with fabric flowers that represent poppies, daisies, and forget-me-nots completes this kroj.On View
