DescriptionA Bohemian kroj consisting of a blouse and vest, petticoat, skirt and apron. The blouse is white with puffed sleeves and a tightly gathered collar. It has drawstring cuffs that are finished with delicate bobbin lace trim, as is the collar. Narrow pleats run down either side of the blouse's front side. The metallic silver and gold vest is covered with a floral brocade. The nine grommets on either side of its back are laced with a thin leather strap. The rows of nine on the front, with red ribbon lacing. The center of both the front and back of the vest extend down lower than the sides. A short band of identical fabric is affixed over its front opening. The band is decorated with metallic gold floral embroidery that is accented with garnets and white beads. Its white petticoat has a narrow bobbin lace band around its hemline. A wide ruffle is sewn around its center, creating a second layer over the lower half. The ruffle is decorated with a wide band of bobbin lace around its bottom.
The kroj's skirt is made of a wine red fabric that has a shiny sheen and the off-white apron is made of lace that is covered with floral designs. It has scalloped edges and wide, pink ribbon ties.On View
