DescriptionA kroj from Bohemia consisting of a blouse and vest, two petticoats, a skirt and apron, and cap. Its blouse is off-white and has puffed elbow-length sleeves. There is floral embroidery in red and blue threading around its collar and cuffs. Floral and geometric designs in the same colors are stitched on its sleeves. The vest is made of black velvet and has six gold buttons running down either side of its front opening for red ribbons to lace through. Lines of delicate beading run around its neckline, bottom edge and arms. The two petticoats are nearly identical. Both are long and white with eyelet and white on white embroidered lace around their hemlines. They have gathered waists with twill tape drawstrings. Its long, red skirt has two bands of dusty blue ribbon sewn around its bottom, roughly five and seven inches from its hemline. It has a gathered waist. The apron is white with a scalloped bottom and sides that are decorated with red and blue floral embroidery. A narrow line of red and blue floral embroidery runs across the apron at roughly four inches from its hemline. It has a lightly gathered waist and short, white ties. An off-white cap with a large bow on its back tops off this kroj perfectly. It is decorated with white on white embroidery and cutwork arranged in geometric designs. The cap face and sides of the bow are scalloped.
